Serenity Valley Farm

Logo design for a local family- and veteran-owned farm. A rather complex project, the client had some very solid ideas about what they were looking for.

After serving multiple tours in Iraq, one of the owners came home and realized two things: first, he wanted to do something completely unrelated to the war and second, he had a passion for naturally raised produce and agricultural sustainability. He and his wife decided to start a farm, which would embrace both of those new found desires and also allow for the couple to start a family business that will eventually help other veterans find work. Unlike a lot of modern farms that seem to market exclusively to the upper class who are already incorporating organic produce into their diets, they really wanted to become a farm that would cater to the needs of their community.

Their main goals when it came time to designing their logo was to create something friendly and approachable while also incorporating military elements including a shape that resembled a squadron patch. The final product is a streamlined yet slightly Americana logomark that hits both of these marks. To anyone in the military, the shape should be easily recognizable. The stars tie in our American heritage while the burst eludes a sense of new beginnings, excitement and goodness. The tomato perched on the fork expresses their homegrown “farm to table” attitude.
