It is only the 10th (almost the 11th) of April and I can’t believe the amount of things going on.
First and foremost, I’ve launched this glorious new website and blog which I am super excited about. WordPress is such a handy tool and after a month or two of trying to figure out how to use it, I’ve created something I’m really proud of. It will make my life much easier when it comes to updating new work and I’m pretty confident that it’ll be way more fun to post new blog entries. Plus, it’s all wrapped into one happy site which simplifies my life in a small but very obvious way.
In addition to moving over to WordPress, I’ve also started moving over all of my accounting stuff (that’s the technical term) from QuickBooks Simple Start to this awesome little web-based program called SohoOS. If you follow me on twitter, you know that I’ve been on the hunt for a fabulous accounting program that was a. easy on the pocketbook and b. filled with ALL of the features I use on a regular basis including quoting, invoicing, project tracking, etc etc etc. After looking high and low, I purchased a program called Bookkeeper which is clunky, ugly and kind of difficult to figure out. FINALLY after I had given up hope, I was spammed on twitter and shed a tear of joy when the spam turned into a beautiful, wonderful, pinch-me-’cause-I’m-dreaming website that has every single thing I wanted/needed. Oh, and best of all, it’s FREE! I am still in the process of figuring out all of the features, but so far it has really been the peanut butter to my jelly.
Lastly, April has brought me an abundance of projects which are literally all due at around the same time. Each time I finish one project, another one crops up. I’m not complaining; my inner workaholic is one heck of a happy camper. I am totally stressed out and overwhelmed but I know that I can handle the pressure, mainly because I thrive on it. A little stress is good for the ticker, so I’ll just be here trudging through and creating exciting new pieces for a wide variety of people.
How is April treating you? I hope well!
